ALL TIGERS supports HOPe, the sports media collective that airs through various episodes the (extra)ordinary career paths of 12 young athletes who practice sports that receive little media attention and dream of going for the gold at the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024.

After interviewing the fencer Manon Brunet, and the Kayak slalom champion Camille Prigent, the ALL TIGERS team meets up with Carlota Dudek, high-level sportswoman in breakdance, a new Olympic discipline for which she is aiming for the podium for Paris 2024.

So, tell us about yourself !

My name is Carlota Dudek and I’m 18 years old. I’m currently studying for a technical degree in business management, and I’m a high-level sportswoman in breakdancing.

I’ve been dancing for 12 years now, but my passion has recently taken on a new dimension since my discipline will be part of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

After having participated in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, it’s been a new goal for me to be a part of the 2024 Olympics in Paris!

When do you feel like you are 'queen of the jungle' ? 

I am queen of the jungle when I dance. Breakdance wasn’t just a random choice for me. It is a type of dance where your skills and personality truly shine. Breakdance battles are about competition, about proving who is best. So, this is when my claws come out!

Who is the ultimate Tiger for you ? 

The person who I am currently really inspired by is the judoka Clarisse Agbegnenou. I find her to be an incredibly powerful athlete; she works hard, and she does it with skill and logic. It’s really admirable. When I train, I try to match her level of strength when she’s in combat. This helps me step up my game.

What makes you bare the claws ?

I want to bare my claws when people think that I’m unable to reach a goal. That just makes me want to progress and prove that I’m good enough.

Natural, vegan, cruelty-free : does that make you roar with pleasure ?

I have a feeling that today’s world has become more aware about natural products and respecting the environment. And I’m aware of it, too. It’s also a way for us to respect ourselves. When we take care of nature and pay attention to its worth, we are taking care of ourselves.

What does nail polish mean to you ?

I wear nail polish often. First off, it’s a way for me to take care of myself. Taking the time to get ready and fix myself up the way I like allows me to spend some time on myself and concentrate on what I need.

Plus, it’s a way for me to show off my femininity and my personality. This is important, since I’m emerging in a predominately masculine discipline...so we as women have to mark our territory and show them who's boss!

Do you have a favorite lipstick or nail laquer color ?

My favorite color is red. I associate this color with motivation and determination. It’s a way for me to demonstrate my confidence and show my opponents that I am ready to rumble.
